WHAT DO I NEED FOR CAMP?

On the first night of camp a parent/guardian will need to review and sign a paper copy of what was submitted online. If you plan to carpool, or your son is driving himself but under 18, please contact us this week so we can send the registration form for you to review, sign and send with your child.

If you did not submit payment please bring a check (made to Hornets Soccer Club), cash or card to the first night of camp. ($60 for junior high, $100 for high school, $225 as a family max). You may also still make a payment online at: https://hornets-soccer-club.square.site/

Players should bring their own ball, shin guards, cleats, plenty of water and excitement for a new season.

VISITING COACHES BIOS

We are excited to welcome visiting coaches for camp!

Junior High will have a visiting coach on all three days of their session (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) with Hornets coaches still on site and available.

Matt Barnes has been a head coach and Director of Coaching for the Thornapple Area Soccer Club and West Michigan Galaxy Soccer Club. His coaching philosophy includes developing technical skills for 1v1 situations, good soccer decision making, and teaching the “why” behind what we do on the field. Matt holds a US Soccer D License as well as certifications from several coaching programs.

High School will have visiting coaches on Monday-Thursday with Hornets Coaches being in attendance throughout the week and Hornets Coaches leading Friday’s training.

Mikayla Johnson is in her first year as an assistant and goalkeeper coach for Cornerstone Women’s Soccer following a standout playing career at CU from 2017–2020. She holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University and brings years of coaching experience at the club, high school, and college levels.

Sam Tracey is in her second season as Head Coach at Cornerstone, bringing a background that includes a national championship and All-American honors during her playing career at Spring Arbor. She previously coached at Grand Valley State University and Midwest United, and has already led multiple athletes to All-WHAC accolades at CU.

TJ Ifaturoti is in his third year as a women’s soccer assistant at Grand Valley State University and brings six years of coaching experience at MRFC. Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, TJ holds a US Soccer C License and has a strong passion for developing players at the collegiate level.
